Simulation Learning System (SLS)
The Simulation Learning System (SLS) is an Elsevier product that is used in SimChart to complete simulation assignments. These assignments will look similar to the Case Study assignments that are completed in SimChart. In this platform, you will work through virtual patients Electronic Health Records (EHR) to complete your assignment. You will need to go through the EHR to collect as much information about the patient as you can find.
When it is time to begin, you will open your assignment in SLS and select the option "Start Simulation".
You will then see this message to remind you to not begin until you are supposed to do so:
You may receive a helpful hint where to begin looking in the EHR such as this:
The SLS assignments that you complete during an ELA will be graded by your course Evaluator. Each SLS assignment will have a rubric with the grading criteria for the activity. Please view the rubric as you are completing your SLS assignment to ensure you have documented all of the required information.
The SLS platform has a time limit recommendation, however, our activities do not follow the time limit provided, so you will not be penalized for going over the recommended time-frame. Your SLS assignment should be completed during your ELA. If you don't complete the SLS assignment during your scheduled ELA, you will be given 48 hours from the time your ELA ends to get the assignment completed. After the 48 hours has past, any missing or late assignment's will be given a score of 0. You are still responsible for turning in all assignments to be able to pass the course. The score of 0 will remain for any late work turned in.
