What changes were included in the July 2019 release?

Summary

Nightingale is updated monthly with both new features and general improvements.  These are based on valuable feedback from our clients as well as our overall development planning.  It's important to us that you know about these updates and improvements in advance so that you can best evaluate the potential impact on your organisation and your increasing workflow efficiencies and your clients' experience.  This also gives you time to notify your team regarding the updates.

These updates will now occur generally on the fourth Thursday of the month after hours.  This next release, however, is planned for 30 July rather than on Thursday the 24th.  General "bug" fixes will be updated as appropriate and will not wait to be implemented with the monthly releases.

1 July 2019 NDIS Pricing Updates and other improvements

The 1 July 2019 NDIS pricing has been updated in Nightingale -- as you're aware, this had to occur twice since NDIA re-issued the 1 July Pricing Guide.  This is a value-add feature of Nightingale.

Some other feature enhancements regarding NDIS funding is:

• NDIS Budget First 

Just as the NDIS evolves, so does Nightingale - we now support the ability to add NDIS funding in a "Budget First" manner.  Here you set your client's current overall budget, their individual support budgets and then roster the client schedule of services to reconcile against their budget.  Budgets are updated automatically depending on what's happening with your clients and the work rostered on for them.

This feature saves you time and effort and ensures that your clients' available funding always reflects what is left after all future rostered services are taken into account.

For example, if a client has $1000 for a particular funding stream and you've rostered 5 one-hour services in the future at a price of $50/hour, your client's available funding will show as $750 still to spend (5x$50=$250 rostered).  If one of those services changes/cancels, Nightingale will re-calculate the available budget for that client.

•  NDIS Plan Managed

Added NDIS (plan managed) funding type to client service invoices as well as added support for NDIS balances, adjustments and payments.

• NDIS Rollover Admin Tool

Added NDIS Rollover admin tool which checks clients for updated NDIS funding and moves rosters/attendance over to the new funding.

• New NDIS Fields

Added new NDIS fields to client details (NDIS Price Type and NDIS Global Rollover) which are used by the NDIS Rollover admin tool.

• NDIS Bulk Price Types

Added NDIS Bulk Price Types admin tool which sets the NDIS price types of multiple clients simultaneously.

General Enhancements and Improvements 

• Roster/Attendance Conversion

A time-saving tool was added to convert rosters and attendance from one funding item to another (go to Client Dashboard -> Funding -> Convert Rosters/Attendance).

• Other Funding Rollover Admin Tool

Added Other Funding Rollover admin tool which checks clients for updated non-NDIS funding and moves rosters/attendance over to the new funding.

•  Time Sheet Update

When viewing an existing time sheet, it will only show attended shifts (unattended shifts will still show when adding a new time sheet).

• Attended Shift Details Report 

This report has been updated to include travel notes and shift codes.  Also, this report now delivers accurate travel distance and time records.

• View Attendance Page

 This page now provides two additional fields in the Customise window; attendance and date columns.

•  Rostering Vehicles

The multi-funding roster now lets you specify a vehicle for each line.

•  Organisation Settings - Customisation

Added a checkbox to Organisation Settings -> Workflows -> Time Sheet shifts that enables/disables Google Map calculation of travel distances.

•  Bulk Deactivate Attendance

Added Bulk Deactivate Attendance admin tool which accepts a list of attendance record ids to deactivate.
