What changes were included in the November 2019 release?

 

Summary

Firstly, we'd like to welcome Matt back full time from his part time paternity leave.  Oona is doing very well!

Secondly, there are a number of time saving and efficiency improvement updates we've made to Nightingale.  Some of them are based on feedback from our clients about what would make some functionality better, etc.  Remember, general fixes will be updated as appropriate and will not wait to be implemented with the monthly releases.

One of this month's updates is in 'FEATURE FOCUS ... A little bird told me...'  Find My Available Staff!!  Make sure that anyone who rosters staff is aware of this one!  Not only will they gain efficiencies, but it's a very client choice-oriented improvement.

And... Release Notes are always available from the main Wiki page: Nightingale Wiki - Main Page  and the FAQs section is growing.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Release Notes are provided to you in advance of the Release.  The release itself is uploaded to your Nightingale instance on the Thursday following notification.  This release will be uploaded on Thursday night, 28 November.

General Enhancements and Improvements 

Staff Exclusions

After excluding staff or noting a preference for a particular gender of staff (Client Staff Exclusions page), a new efficiency has been added.   What about all the future scheduled appointments?  When you hit the SAVE button, the Client Staff Exclusions page will now list existing rosters and groups which violate exclusions. 

The warnings are found in the Staff Exclusion tab from the Client's Dashboard, and highlight those appointments that exist in the future roster but that now are at odds with the new staff exclusion(s).  First listed are the single client rostered appointments and then the list shows when that client is in a Group appointment where someone on their exclusion list is present.  Additionally, any Gender choice made/changed invokes the same warning message for the individual client and the group setting.

Staff Who Are Available

Right clicking on an appointment in the calendar allows you to find staff members that are available during the time you're trying to fill/back-fill.

Custom Pricing  Adding rosters from the client dashboard allows you to specify an optional cost override for each service appointment, should it be applicable.

Invoice and Claims Report History

Client invoice and claims criteria pages now show histories of previous reports that were run at the bottom of each page.  

Xero

- Can now store and use Xero Invoice Templates
- Can now store and use Xero Tracking Numbers
- Can now store and use Xero Account Codes

- A client with NDIS funding can now be Self-Managed at the NDIS Support Item Level.
- Plan-Managed has been renamed to Self Managed.

 Organisation Settings

- You can now manage Agencies which can be linked to Client/Staff Alternate Contacts
- You can now manage Regions which can be linked to Clients/Staff

- You can now add security levels to Case Note Types.  This allows you to restrict the creation of certain Case Note Types to certain positions/security levels.

Preparation for coming features

- Preparation for new optomised Scheduling Calendar and Manage Attendance pages
- Preparation for new Custom Case Note Follow Up Functionality
- Preparation for new Custom Form builder (standalone)

 Added updates on Friday the 29th due to Release delay

The delay has allowed us to sneak in a few more updates: 

1. Updated Consolidated Funding Export

2. New Xero Reconciliation Report

3. Upgraded ability to now Create Buddy Shifts for shifts that fall within a time range (No longer buddy every shift.)

4. Upgraded ability to Reassign Shifts for those that fall within a specific time range. (No longer have to reassign everything.)

The Release will be uploaded tonight, Friday the 29th of November.
