How do I connect SharePoint to Nightingale?

The SharePoint Settings allows Nightingale to specify where and how clients in Nightingale are linked to files in SharePoint.

Organisations will require the SharePoint Integration to be enabled. Due to security concerns organisations will need to contact Nightingale Support to setup the SharePoint Settings on their behalf. Please review the details below and inform support how you would like the settings configured.

Root Folder

Here we can choose which folder in SharePoint contains/will contain all of the client folders. The text below will update to show the full path to your selected folder, if you have selected one.

It takes a couple seconds for the Currently Selected Folder Path text to update, or for a folder to be expanded to show its children. The latter is normal as the page has to go back to SharePoint for the details of each subfolder.

Folder Naming Scheme

From here we can specify the format of the client folder names in SharePoint. By including the blocks wrapped in curly braces { }, you can specify pieces of data from the Nightingale Client record.

Leave this blank to use Nightingale's default behaviour, which will match a client to a folder with a name of the form "FirstName-LastName" or "FirstName LastName"

For example, the following:

{FirstName} {LastName} would look for a folder called “Bob-Newhart” for a client with the first name Bob and last name Newhart in the Nightingale database.

{FirstName} {LastName} {NDISNumber} would look for a folder called “Bob-Newhart-431234567 ” for a client with the first name Bob, last name Newhart and NDIS number 431234567 in the Nightingale database.

The options:

{FirstName} - Clients first name in Nightingale
{LastName} - Clients last name in Nightingale
{MiddleName} - Clients middle name in Nightingale
{PreferredName} - Clients preferred name in Nightingale
{NDISNumber} - Clients NDIS Number in Nightingale
{InternalId} - Clients Internal Id in Nightingale

Check for Clients Sharing Folder Name

Using the button beneath the text box, you can check if your chosen folder naming scheme would result in two Nightingale clients using the same SharePoint folder. This is the result in a testing database with two clients named “Bob Newhart”:
